I’m a Starbucks addict. I love the Christmas Blend coffee this time of year but my favorite holiday Starbucks drink is their Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino hands down! I have tried for a couple of weeks to order this drink but the local Starbucks does not have it available for one reason or another. I’ve googled copycat recipes over and over and have tried many of these recipes only to find them unsatisfactory. They taste nothing like the orginal.
Well, I discovered this recipe below for a peppermint frappuccino either on Pinterest or Instagram (I can’t remember where – my senior moments seem to be increasing!) and it stated that it tastes a lot like the holiday frapp from Starbucks so I read through it and decided that it was worth a try.
I found it very easy to make and I tweaked just one thing in the recipe which sort of makes it my own. This frappuccino is DELICIOUS! As good if not better than the Starbucks version. AMAZING! This is a real money saver too!
The following recipe can make either 2 or 4 drinks depending on how much you want. You can store the remaining in the fridge – just give it a few pulses again in the blender before drinking.
Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino
3 cups ice (cubed or crushed)
1 cup chocolate milk
3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon mint extract (I used 2 Peppermint Patties broken into bits instead)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/4 cup half and half
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp chocolate syrup (extra for coating the glasses if desired)
1/4 cup brewed cold black coffee
1. In a blender add all of the ingredients
2. Blend on high speed until well mixed and frothy
3. Pour into two tall glasses and place a dollop of the whipped cream on top
4. Garnish with some extra cocoa powder or crushed up Peppermint Patties
5. Serve at once with straws (preferably metal straws) and a Peppermint Pattie on the side
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this recipe if you decide to try it. Let me know!
