I dislike boxed mixes for things like brownies. I much prefer to make my own from scratch. It’s easy – you can adjust ingredients and amounts to your liking. The end result? Wonderfully delicious homemade brownies made from scratch with lotsa love ❤️. I will be making more of these decadent brownies for my son over the holidays.
Here’s the super easy way I make my brownies…
Decadent Fudgey Brownies
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon cooking oil (I use canola oil)
1 1/8 cup superfine sugar (granulated)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Here’s What You Do Next
Preheat oven to 350 F / 175 C
Lightly grease an 8 inch square baking dish with cooking oil spray. Set aside.
Combine melted butter, oil and sugar in a medium bowl. Whisk well for about a minute. Add the eggs and vanilla. Beat until lighter in color (about another minute).
Stir in flour, cocoa powder and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined (do not over mix as doing so will affect the texture of the brownies).
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top out evenly. (OPTIONAL: top with chocolate chunks or chips.)
Bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until the center of brownies no longer jiggle. Allow to cool to room temperature before slicing.
You can add in chopped walnuts, peanuts, almonds, pecans, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, dried fruit, raisins, etc. Make these brownies your own delectable and decadent treat! Made with love ❤️.
